Before you read this description, I'd like to acknowledge the fact that even though the majority of the characters of this story do not belong to me, this story takes place in an au where everything is the same except for the fact that Heather doesn't exist because I honestly hate her. This story is my own original work, and I would never take scenes directly from a story written by someone else and claim them as my own. don't judge me I'm letting the new generation have their fanfiction just like I had mine when I was 12. Yes I did mark this story as mature, I don't want the Wattpad guidelines to take it down because "it's too graphic for young audiences" Y/n just moved to Chicago, Illinois with her family. Since her days in middle school, she's always been an alternative girl. Starting out as emo, and graduating to a mix of punk and goth in grade eight, she's always been alone. Music has kept her together through the years, no matter what hardships she's been faced with. Now 17 and faced with adjusting to a whole new highschool right before graduating, with nobody to help her, she once again turns to music, just in a different way than she had expected.

*FIRST EVER WATTPAD BOOK WITH THIS CHARACTER* *BEFORE WE START: THIS BOOK IS MEANT TO BREAK THE STIGMAS ASSOCIATED WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND ADDICTIONS. IF YOU DONT HAVE AN OPEN MIND AND ARE THE TYPE TO INSTANTLY COMMENT "JUNKIE" INSTEAD OF VIEWING THE OVERALL PICTURE, PLEASE REFER TO ANOTHER BOOK. WE DISCUSS GROWN PEOPLE PROBLEMS HERE.* Started: November 18, 2018 Completed: July 28, 2019 Kaleehalani is a 26 year old woman fresh from college with a degree in Journalism. Using her degree, she runs an online blog called "To Be Chocolate Like Me" to uplift other women with the same insecurity as her own. Everywhere she would go, she would be teased about how white her teeth were but how dark she was. Her desire to create her blog was inspired by her ex boyfriend who actually helped her confidence, but that all changed when she realized he was just using her to get to her light skinned "Bestfriend." Just when she is in the process of building her brick wall up, one night at a Dave East concert changes her entire life in a way that she could have never imagined- both good and bad. After so many months of fighting a battle of unspoken anxiety and depression, she has lost all trust in anyone that isn't her, even her parents who never seemed to care about anything but their money from the start. Follow Kaleehalani on this journey to find herself through the fame, money, lies, deceit, and "love". *I DO NOT GIVE MY CHARACTERS OUT AND I DO NOT OWN COPYRIGHTS TO ANY OF THE PICTURES, GIFS, MUSIC LYRICS, OR ANY OTHER VISUALS* Cover made by me 🥰
