This book is about a girl named Kennedy and a boy named Tyler. Kennedy has had a rough upcoming and is left to take care of her younger brother and sister which are twins; there names are Kayla and Kyler. Her mother suffered from kidney failure and her dad was killed in a shootout trying to protect neighborhood kids. Tyler on the other hand is what others refer to as lucky. His mom is a well known pediatrician while his dad owns over 5 different music industries. He struggles with keeping the legacy of his father after he falls sick from stage 3 prostate cancer. His mother is slowly losing it and he doesn't have longer. He becomes depressed until he meets a transfer student named Kennedy at Royal Oaks High-school.
