When sixteen-year-old Alice Epcott begins hearing strange, invisible noises that no one else can hear, she thinks that her life is over. Before long, she is diagnosed with schizophrenia and sent to live at Fennsworth Hall, a safehouse-slash-boarding-school for "mentally disturbed teens." But Fennsworth Hall is not all it seems to be--and neither are Alice's invisible noises. With her new friends Jamie, Oakley, Katharine, and Vinc (aka Elvis, Nik, Babe, and...well, Vinc), Alice finds herself tangled in a web of secrets and schemes that not only stretch beyond this world, but could determine the fate of it.
