Syana Monroe has seen things that most young women would cower in fear from. She has done something that many would commit suicide because of. And she is is something of myth. Though they protect the worthless species called humans from things of their nightmares, Syana's kind has been forced into hiding for fear of their long lives.
Dragons.
Syana's kind is called dragons. She being the most important one of all. A Phoenix. It is a gift in the eyes of her people, but a curse in her's. This "gift" caused her father to be killed, right in front of her fragile 5-year-old mind. Her mother and she have had to move every six months to escape the evil man's clutches.
When they finally settle down in a woody area of America with a couple of mountains for Syana to train for her inevitable battle with the man that killed her father, she meets her one true love, the man that would be there for her in her times of need and all the times in between. Her mate.
Yet she pushes him away to protect him. With a upcoming battle to the death and a undiniable attraction to her stubborn and protective mate, Syana prays to the sun and moon goddesses above to take away the curse that put her in this twisted situation in the first place.
