Gerard smiled slightly, taking a sip of his coffee. "What did Linds say?"

It took Frank a second to remember his train of thought but he got it quickly. "Yeah, uhm, she said you were super upset a- and I wanted to apologize again, I overreacted. I shouldn't be so sensitive, I know that, but I can't help it. So, again," he took a deep breath. 

"How can I make it up to you?"

"You don't have to-"

"But I want to," he said, "please, Gee. I need to make it up to you or I'll always feel guilty. What can I do?"

Frank is a 19-year old in his second year of college and his life could honestly be better; his best friends are assholes, he doesn't have a girlfriend nor boyfriend, his classes are boring as fuck, and his anxiety also got worse again. Overall, everything is dull and boring, but he's content. He never wanted to have some adrenaline-filled life, he's more of a lazy, laid-back kind of guy.
All of that changes when a certain ex-boyfriend shows up at his college dorm.

He doesn't have any friends, and he feels like he's just fading into oblivion and no one really cares. Really, he's all on his own, and he needs someone. But he never thinks he'll have anyone. That is, until Gerard. So they're both pretty fucked up. But they need each other, and they want each other, and they're determined to make it work. It isn't always easy, in fact, it rarely seems to be. But it's all a bit better if they can just hold each other's hands through it. Trigger Warning-Alcohol, drugs, self harm, suicidal thoughts, self hate, mild irregular eating habits, depression and anxiety. It's not like I asked for this. I didn't ask. I didn't want this. But now there's nothing in this world that I could want more. Him, next to me. Smiling. Us sitting next to each other. Holding hands. Kissing. Hugging. Everything. Frank; a depressed kid with problems no one could imagine. And a desire to die. Gerard; another depressed kid who doesn't want life anymore. 3:39 am. Gerard finds Frank passed out on the beach. 5:24 am. Frank wakes up in his room with no memory of two hours before. 6:12 am. Mikey, Gerard's brother, sits in his brother's room, talking about the boy Gerard found on the beach. 9:52 am. Gerard wonders about the boy on the beach. 10:43 am. Frank wonders why he's still alive. 12:37 pm. Mikey wonders why his friend, Frank, is acting so weird. 2:19 pm. Gerard leaves the house and goes to the beach, where he found the boy. 3:49 pm. Frank realises someone found him. 5:26 pm. Mikey wants to know what the fuck is going on with the two important people in his life. I like to think I have improved on writing since this time and I really don't like this. So many regrets... [Complete] Frank Iero has been suffering from the 'incident' ever since it happened. What made it worse was that it was completely his fault. His mother notices his behaviour afterwards and sends him to a therpy group. He knows he can't be 'cured' because there was nothing to 'cure'. This was him, left with the faded memories of the 'incident'. Gerard Way had to move schools because of bullying. Of course, it wasn't exactly bullying if quart labled it as abuse. His arms are adorned in long sleeves at all times. His mother takes to this and sends him to therapy. Group Therapy. But, their differences don't keep them apart considering these strangers are forced into each other's lives when Gerard finds Frank attempting to commit suicide. Frank is twenty eight: he's mentally stable for the most part, and well nobody has to know about pills he takes twice a day, do they? He's normal now, he's a person now, he's a fucking adult with an office job and he fucking hates it and that's fine, because he got out of the mental hospital three years ago, and these past three years of mundane nothingness have been the best three years of his life. Ten years ago, or so, Frank was in love with a boy called Gerard with fiery red hair and the personality of a switchblade knife, and ten years ago that boy called Gerard had killed himself. Frank still saw him though: hallucinations, as he knew them to be now, and it took him years in a hospital he never thought he'd get out of to convince himself of his newfound sanity, but he was okay now. Twenty eight year old Frank Iero had been officially 'okay' since he was twenty five. He hadn't seen Gerard again, and he didn't even think about the guy - he was just normal, and he was almost painfully content with being the secretary to someone with a five figure salary. But of course, on one fateful morning in December, that has to go and change, doesn't it? (Technically a sequel to Summertime, but I wouldn't say you need to have read Summertime to understand and enjoy this)

A story of romance, tragedy, healing, and finally happiness, because everyone needs a happy ending sometimes. - Gerard doesn't talk to anyone, he doesn't know anyone, he's completely absorbed in the little bubble that is his independent little life. He's homeschooled as well, which means he only ever leaves to get groceries. For how little he leaves the house, and how closed off he is, it's quite a wonder how he met Frank. Frank is an extrovert and he kind of lacks boundaries when it comes to making friends. He's curious and speaks his mind constantly, which sometimes gets him into trouble. It must be good for something though, because not many people bother to figure out Gerard. Little did either of them no how much they'd change each other's lives. #1 tag in #frerardfanfiction 6/06/2024
