"You're saying goodbye, aren't you? You're going to leave me like everyone else."

Her soft, small hands caressed my cheeks, wiping the tears that escaped.

"This isn't goodbye. Consider this a 'See you later.' I wont leave you, Googie. I'll never leave you. Not intentionally. I'll come back. I promise."

She stuck up her pinky, waiting for me to lock mine with hers.

"You promise?"

"I promise."

But that was ten years ago. She never came back since.
