The second installment of unhealthy twists from the short story collection, 'In Towns of Short Health' from Calibna J. Kerr.
A coffee to go and a train ride out of a war torn town and Elliott Gray has no idea how he got there. Enclosed in a cramped carriage with a stranger insistent upon keeping his credentials concealed, the bombardment never seems to end. Not until their unexpected meeting is intruded upon by Edward Mailbury, a portly gentleman who appears to pay no heed to the persistent reel of images, death and sufferance flicking passed the windows. With the pull of an emergency lever, the true punishment comes to light.

Thirteen Points of Light
After a night on the town, Sarah wakes up to a miserable hangover. But it's nothing compared to what comes next. After attempting to light a cigarette, she feels that something isn't quite right. Soon she'll discover that everything is very wrong. My entry in the Open Novella Contest III, Feb 2020. April 28. Just got the news that Thirteen Points has made it through the second round. Now I have to finish by May 5th. I'm not as far along as I had hoped at this point, but I'm sure I can make it. May 4th. 12:10 am. Finished. Submitted. Good night. May 20th. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though. I just wanted to go home, but at the time I guess it was right. He was standing on the track of an oncoming train, was it really that wrong to save him? Gage Grant saved a boy named Patton from killing himself, but what Patton does to thank Gage is something no one wanted. Patton followed Gage around like a puppy, a loyal puppy. An illusion to take pleasure in but make you question reality itself. BLAIR ANDERSON is quite a...strange girl. Despite the mistreatment and emotional neglect from her parents, she believes that deep inside everyone, there's always good. Because of her too trusting nature and her desire for love and affection she never received, it may lead to her ruination when she meets AMEO ADLER, who can be too...calm in frightening situations, for a lack of a better word. Ilory Benson was an uninteresting introverted person, who didn't care about fitting anywhere but her little apartment, or in her books. Especially, in her well-respected family, and not many people knew the fact that she was the youngest daughter of a known personality in the Political World, now the Vice President of the US. People never bothered getting to know her and she didn't care, she was always behind the curtains and off the screen, while her four siblings were just as successful as her parents. Most of the time llory was invisible to people, but there was one particular person who avoided her like sugar on a diet. Her brother-in-law, Emmanuel Savelli. She had never let people's behaviour bother her, but if she could come close to hating anyone that would be him. Therefore, when a call in the middle of the night had her rushing to Washington she was in shock, the place and people she left for her peace of mind were now calling her. But this return brought a whole lot of responsibilities and immediate decisions. One of them particularly concluded on marrying Emmanuel which was also her sister's dying wish. To step in for the sixteen months old baby her sister left behind, after suffering because of Cardiovascular Disease.
