The title says it all. I punched a gang leaders son.
Then I beat up the towns undefeated fighter, moved to Cali, met the schools bad boy and promptly threatened to bash his sisters face in.
Yeah, not my greatest moment.
But my sister is the gang leader to the biggest, strongest gang on the eastern seaboard. All my problems should be about who she sends me to punch next, right? DEFINITELY not a love-triangle, or a psychotic ex-boyfriend threatening my family, or my crazy best-friend who really DOESN'T help me in figuring out who the hell I'm supposed to choose...
But it shouldn't be a choice, should it? Not when it's real...
All I'm sure about is that you should definitely read this book. For no other reason than you get to yell at me for probably doing all the stupid choices.

The second his hand made contact with my arm, I grabbed it and pinned it behind his back, pushing him down on his knees.

"What the-" I didn't let him finish his sentence. In the blink of an eye, his face was hurled into the tiled floor of the hallway, and he was groaning on the floor facedown.

I kicked him so he turned over on his backside, and I punched him in his nose. His jaw. and finally his temple, knocking him out cold. Just for good measure, I kicked him again in his stomach before walking out of the school doors, making sure to come from the opposite direction from where Erin would eventually be found. I checked the time, feeling marginally better.

10:23

I had more than enough time to make it to Base and get ready for the fight.

But then it hit me.

I beat up a gang leader's son.

Oh god, I am in so much trouble when I get home.

Meet Isabel. She gets along with most people, not super popular but she's not a wallflower either. Isabel doesn't need anyone else in her life not to protect her and certainly not Derek and his crew. She lives with her brother and father . They share a secret that could land them in jail. She can fight almost anyone and win, this girl kicks a$$. Yet Isabel has a past that features in her nightmares, making her afraid to sleep alone. --- "Hey?" I heard but didn't reply. "Hey!" I still didn't reply. A hand grabbed my arm and I twisted out of it on instinct. There was a glimmer of surprise in his eyes as I faced the last of the Five in the now almost empty hallway. Derek. Almost as tall as Mac. Black hair like the twins with ice cold blueish grey eyes. Same fighters build, six pack and all but not as soft as Mac or as feminine as the twins beauty. He was more rugged. I did understand the appeal of these boys but there were a lot of good looking guys on the swim team too and I did go with Jarred when he had fights. "You know we wouldn't let anyone hurt you right? Even if Jarred isn't around, we'll be here to protect you." I blinked. I blinked again. Nope, he was still standing there with the same serious expression. Derek, the unofficial leader of the Five, the boy every guy would want to be friends with and every girl would love to sleep with, was offering me his protection. I did the only thing that made sense in that situation. I burst out laughing. I was laughing so hard that I doubled over and when I glanced up at him I just cracked up again. He stood through it all without any emotion on his face, there was barely a glimmer of anger in his eyes. If anything I might have seen some surprise. I patted him on the arm and winked. "You. Are. Funny! I don't need you idiots to look out for me. But thanks for the thought." With that I quickly made my way to class.

He had a tight grip on my arm and one arm around my waist to stop me moving away. "You've slapped me three times now Jade. You better watch out because next time I won't let you get away with it." I closed my eyes when I felt his breath on my neck. We both seemed to be enjoying the position and close proximity too much since neither of us tried to move.' He once told me no one knows the real him.I didn't think he meant it, and not in a good way. He is a straight A student, and everyone knows it, not to mention he is on the swim team. All that though isn't the real him, the real him hides deep within himself. ---------- "Can you please tell me what that was?" I nearly shout at him. All I get is silence. He keeps his back to me. "Please, I need some explanation." I beg. I stay still as he stops dead in his tracks. His body is tense and it's scarring me. He turns around slowly to face me with his hands at his sides. His eyes meet mine, but there is no spark of any emotion in them. They are cold and dark making me look away not being able to hold his deadly stare. I feel uneasy under his gaze, and i feel his eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. "No, I won't explain because it's not important." He says in a low, almost, growl. I flinch and look back into his eyes. I feel hurt by his words and I don't know why, but I know he sees it in my eyes. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.

Raised in the Mafia, I have known no other life other than cold calculated violence and discipline. A life where brutality is praised and weakness is ridiculed, I became the best of my parents and the worst the world has ever seen. Young and still gaining control of my mafia, love is never an option for me, that is until one night at a Mafia ball where I spy a woman who has me to my knees. I want more, more, more. She's reckless and cunningly beautiful. Too good for me and yet the only one for me. We fight for survival and for each other because neither one of us will let go. ------------------------- I sat in the back, legs apart and looked at her with my head tilted. She licked her lips and squeezed though the front seats all the while looking at me. I pulled her towards me and she chuckled as she sat on my lap. Her legs were either side of me and her breathing was ragged. I ran my hand down her cheek and pulled her into me. I kissed her lips and soon our tongues whirled around. Hungry and rough. She held her head back and I began to plant rough kisses onto her beautiful neck. "Am I a bad influence?" She breathed. Her hands were on the back of my neck. I stopped kissing her and looked up at her. "Everyone needs a little bad in their lives." I whispered back making her smile. My hands found her waist and I noticed her short dress had ridden up exposing her thighs. She wore it to tease me and I loved it. Fuck, I loved her body. She breathed into my neck and I pulled off her dress in one slick motion. My hands were all over her back, feeling her, touching her. Her soft skin drove me crazy. ------------------------- BE AWARE: Trigger warnings: MATURE CONTENT 18+ (SMUT) SWEARING VIOLENCE/GUN VIOLENCE SELF HARM/SUICIDE (REFERENCES) EXPLICIT LANGUAGE REFERENCES TO RAPE SMOKING/ALCOHOL/DRUGS BLOOD/DEATH/GORE ©️ All rights reserved ™️ The Walnut Tree BOOK TWO OF THE MAFIA SERIES
