This is a fictitious story base off of true events. The death of Quanice Hayes. I left my house to go to school and Hayes was shot and killed one street way. He was two years younger than me at the time and something about that has never sat right with me.

It's 'Killed or be Killed' and living in New Orleans, you start to live by the 'Survival of The Fittest' mentality. Everyone's trying to make it and be something, but there's only ever room for one person to be on top. The famous singer/songwriter, Elena Matthews, is forced to take a one year leave from her career when her sister's previous school shuts down. Her sister decides she wants to enrol in a public school, something she has never done before, to know what it's like to be a normal high school student. CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest.
