What happens when you find out that everything you ever believed, everything that fell into the idea of normal was a farce?

That the word normal was established to give a context to the everyday idea of sane and appropriate?

That every action you exhibit, every behavior you express, your past and future are all controlled by supernatural beings?

Yes we have been told many myths and truth. That there is a higher being above looking down on us. But what if you find out that there are higher beings, yes many, existing above who control everything around you?

A whole colony, a pack, group, a race. These creatures are not mythical. They are not your typical storybook fairy tales and myths.

They surpass those. They exist but have not been discovered. They walk amongst us but are unlike us.

They protect the human world from unknown and unseen forces. Creatures of the night.

They are the defenders of the human kind. Protectors of our realm.

They live for thousands of years without ageing. Exhibit human tendencies and attributes as a disguise. Mysteriously beautiful creatures.

      Their ways completely unlike ours.

But what if you're allowed a glimpse of their world? Their life? You're given the privileges of seeing these creatures as they really are?

But the biggest coupe dé faux, is what if you find out you're one of them?

I am Alexis Reed, your not so normal teenager. And welcome to my journey of self discovery.

Everything is not as it seems...

He's here, he's always here. Watching me, protecting me. Even if I can't see him I know he's here. I can sense him. You know those moment's you get cold chills or you see something out of the corner of your eye but when you look nothing's there. Yea, well that's him. I wasn't suppose to see him though, it just happened. Now that I know he's here I do thing's to provoke him, to call him out, and when he ignores me I tiptoe into dangerous situations to force him out, which initially angers him. Gath is my appointed guardian angel. He guards my body, my soul, but he can't guard my heart from him. Yes, I'm falling for my broken angel but how can we ever love, we are from two different world's. Guarding Aspen was more of a punishment I received for being a disobedient angel. In order to receive my entrance I was ordered to keep her safe and out of trouble, but Aspen is no ordinary girl. She tests my nerves to no end and does so purposefully now that she is aware of me. It happened so fast the night she saw me I'd hope she would think I was a figment of her imagination, but no such luck. She wouldn't stop pushing the limits until I showed myself again. Not only dealing with Aspen's tantrums I was running from my own demons. Being back on earth was a reminder of everything that was ripped from me one fateful night when I was a human. I was sent here to fix Aspen but in the end she fixes me, she mends my broken wings. The hardest thing is to come though, when I must return to the heavens and leave my Aspen behind.

"Don't go inside! Stay!" She said, holding her hand up to show me her palm and then I leaned over the balcony, resting my forearms on the railing to hold me up. I rolled my eyes as I exhaled deeply. Apparently I was a dog now. But fuck, It's her! What are the fucking chances. It feels like I'm in one of those Wattpad novels that Beth always reads. She quickly rushed inside and opened her blinds so that I could see right into her apartment. I watched her rush over to her stereo to lower the volume and then she came rushing back out, out of breath. "Did you get my note?" She asked and then I nodded, trying to force back a smile remembering her cute handwriting, in fact her little note was in the pocket of my sweatpants at this very moment, And so was her 100 dollar bill that she had given me, "I did!" I said as I watched her try to brush her hair out of her face "look, the money that you gave me. I don't want it. I appreciate it but it's too much! I need to give it back!" I said and then she shook her head trying to reject what I was saying. "No, it's yours I gave it to you!" She seemed upset and a little sad that I wanted to give her money back. "Hey, come on. This is a sign from whatever forces are at work here, what are the chances that you would be living right across from me!? This is fucking crazy, I can't accept the money and the universe is giving me a chance to return it." I said shrugging as she waved me off and then smiled sweetly as she breathed in for a moment just looking at me with softness. THIS BOOK IS A BLEND OF TEENAGE DRAMA REALISM AND FANTASY - ROMANCE. Paranormal Romance (Werewolf) You know that movie Jerry Maguire? It's about this sports agent who got fired for suddenly having a conscience. Anyway, there's this very romantic scene by the end of the movie when Jerry made this very heartfelt and passionate declaration to his wife. Those words would melt you into a puddle and make you burst into tears thinking, "I want to have that kind of love!" Well that very sweet scene did not happen on this story, not all of it anyway. Don't get me wrong it was heart wrenching, very much so, and there was a passionate declaration. But instead of saying the oh so loving, oh so sweet and oh so scripted "I love you. You complete me..." like Jerry did in the movie, my 'mate', the other half of my soul and the one who 'completes' me said, "I hate you. I wish you were dead!" He said it with disgust and anger burning in his eyes. He didn't run into my arms like he was supposed to, he ran away from it. But who could blame him? Jerry Maguire was right. We live in a cynical world and we work on a business of tough competitors. Why would my mate want to be with me? He'd be shunned and be forever laughed at. Aside from the fact that I was male, I'm basically useless to him because I'm a werewolf who can't phase. He's an alpha. He could have anyone he wants. And me, well, I'm on the bottom of the pack, the runt of the litter. The council didn't know what to do with me. They couldn't kill me since it could drive my mate insane, even if he didn't want me. I can't kill myself because it would probably have the same effect on him. I have to live but I can't be with my mate and my pack. So I made it easier for everyone, I ran away. I always believed in the saying "Out of sight, out of mind." What I didn't consider was the possibility that they'd come after me and forcefully bring me back.

Nessa Emptiness and anger were familiar. Those were emotions I've been trained to feel, emotions that were injected into my veins by none other than the person who I thought loved me more than anyone else. I was fake and made and the daughter of a woman known for her insanity. Everyone knew and everyone assumed me to be the same. Little did I know they were right. All it took to unleash my crazy was the mute young man sitting on the other side of the lecture hall, throwing glances at me whenever he thought I wasn't looking. Soon enough I was always watching, guarding and obsessing. And I hated how Dorian Dubois' life looked like. Dorian Going through life with numb limbs and hazy vision, but no other physical evidence of acts that drown you in shame, was a burden I didn't know how long I was able to bear. Baneyard was an incredibly ugly place to be stuck at - mainly because of its population. With my head always lowered and my talent to blend out my surroundings, I almost missed out on the girl whose green eyes ordered me not to cower. I realized I was doomed when I started looking forward to see her on the grounds of our prestigious Baneyard University. I realized I was fucked when the girl they called "witch" started to appear everywhere - in my thoughts, in my dreams but worse, on the other side of my bedroom door to lock me in.
