When she inadvertently causes a nasty car accident, Rose Maitlis can't believe her misfortune. Not only could she have lost her own life, but she almost killed her fellow victim, Gideon Faraday, who ends up with multiple injuries including a broken arm and amnesia. As a result, she's mortified, guilty, and feels obliged to make sure that Gideon recovers and finds a level of normality. 

But amongst her new found duty, Rose has a large role in an upcoming stage show production of Macbeth to contend with, which may lead to bigger and brighter things for her career as an actress. 

However, amongst the chaos, Rose discovers that the key to unlocking Gideon's memory and getting him back on track is the one thing he loves the most: art. And soon Rose begins to appreciate the beauty of painting and how it isn't as tedious as she used to believe as well as the value of slowing down and appreciating life.
