If only I would have set my alarm last night instead of just letting myself fall asleep.
If only I hadn't had that yogurt for breakfast because I was starving and needed something.
Then I wouldn't have left school early because of the stomach pain. Curse being lactose intolerant.
I wouldn't have seen Adrian and his friend Tristan sitting there while swigging a two liter of ginger ale and treating themselves to some ice cream.
They wouldn't have noticed me.
And if they hadn't noticed me, Tristan would not have unexpectedly remembered me from a science project we did together two years ago.
If only he hadn't shouted my name and asked me if I was okay.
Then maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't have had to deal with Adrian calling me milkmaid and pipsqueak for the next four days.
And then, perhaps I wouldn't have gotten back at him by "girlifying" his locker.
Quite possibly, we wouldn't have started a prank war of unexpected proportion.
But, alas I did not set my alarm last night.
And this story is what happened because of it.
