Alex Ramirez is just your average California girl, living in LA with her single mom and younger siblings, going to high school while working part time and teaching guitar and dance at her local community center, and spending every other waking moment with her friends doing all the things that teenagers do. But her life is far from normal, and as she struggles to fit in, going to parties with her friends and abusive boyfriend and getting wasted almost every night, she meets Alex, who helps her feel more normal in her crazy life. As Billie starts to come to terms with her past traumas and her current situation she struggles to realize what true love really is. Blinded by the daunting nature of her past and future, Billie struggles to see that what her life has become, and everything she has in the here and now is everything she ever wanted.
