Amelia watched as her brother disappeared into the thorns not knowing that he was being led to another world. A world of danger. A world which depended on human blood to cure the sick.
All Amelia can think about are the guards' words echoing through her mind: "She needs him." But why? Why do they need her brother so badly? What for? And who was 'she'? Was she seeking revenge? Because why would she need him and not her too?
As Amelia jumped onto the new platform which met with her world she knew that she could never go back to her parents without her brother. They would never believe the truth. They would never forgive her. For if Amelia went back now she would have to live with the guilt of knowing that she let her brother die. The only option she has is to find him because without her brother she is nothing. It will never be the same.
As Amelia makes her way through Aberowe, the games which are built to drive her away from her brother become harder and she becomes weaker, but she can't give up. Not now and not ever again.
