Don't Untie Grandma

Ever since I was young I had wondered why we keep my grandma tied up in the attic. Why didn't we just have a funeral and put her in a coffin like a normal family? I never understood. All I know is, my little brother and I are always told not to untie grandma. My brother says bad things will happen. I don't believe him.
