It's been five years since Kai's life was completely turned upside down, but he is extremely grateful for the things that have happened. The deaths not included, things have changed for the better. Kai feels that if those men and Thorn hadn't showed up at his home, Abby wouldn't be his girlfriend, Chase wouldn't be his best friend, Shintaro wouldn't be an amazing "therapist" (as Chase calls it) to Kai, Linda wouldn't be like a mother to him, Gabriel wouldn't be the funny-in-his-own-antisocial-way friend (he had his own home in the town, so he often visited), and Kai wouldn't be as close to his father has he is now. Kai is actually enjoying his new life in this strange town. The village is "ruled" by a young woman named Ruby, and everyone there adores her for being such a great leader. Kai has only met her once or twice, but she seems very nice. But there is something prickling at the back of Kai's mind, and it unsettles him greatly. Ever since Moon vanished after killing Luke, she hasn't been spotted anywhere. Kai often wonders if she is somewhere far from where they are now, planning her next attack. When a series of strange events start happening around the town, Kai is certain that Moon is back and playing her game with them. In a way, he is right. But there are many things that he is also wrong about. During the midst of it all, Shintaro gets captured, sending Kai down a path of despair and hopelessness. He feels responsible for getting Shintaro back, but he doesn't know what he's up against. Thankfully, his friends don't let him do it by himself. As always, they have his back. And soon, new friends are there behind him, too. The group finds that Moon is behind all of this, but she isn't doing it for herself. She has Shintaro for a certain reason, and the friends are soon to find out what is at stake. The lives of others, including loved ones.

⚠THIS STORY CONTAINS THEMES THAT MIGHT BE TOO INTENSE FOR SOME READERS. ⚠ She pounded on her brother's door, screaming. No answer. Her tears intensified to the point that she could barely see. Her lungs were quickly filling with smoke. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kailani Flair wasn't exactly sympathetic towards people. Certain experiences had made her that way. After the supposed death of her entire family when she was five, Kailani had made a promise to herself. A promise to find them, or, if they were really dead, the person responsible and make them pay. And she didn't really care who got in her way. However, two young girls might be just what Kailani needs to soften her heart of stone. Nevan Ransom had buried his troubling past when he moved into a small town on the outskirts of Mispa. But nothing buried, dead or alive, stays buried long. His past has caught up to him. In an effort to find a better life for him and his adoptive little brother, Shea, he decides to find the assassin that's wanted all over the Southern Kingdoms and collect the bounty for them. 𝘔𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘚𝘯𝘰𝘸. His mission is sidetracked when Shea is taken, and he's left with an eerie note with a scarily familiar signature. Nazifa didn't know who her parents were, she honestly didn't care to. They were probably like all the other parents in the Southern Kingdoms. Selfish, egotistical, and money crazed. At least that's how Kai had described his parents, and he was her best friend, so she trusted him. But that trust wasn't gained overnight. She'd learned the hard way what easy trust led to. Which is one of the reasons why she's on high alert around their new friend, Killian. However, when Kai goes missing while on a hunting expedition, she has no choice but to trust Killian. As he knows the woods better than anyone in Paradise. He's the only one who can help her

I held in my hands what looked like a spine. Blood dripped down to the end. It gathered instead of dripping off. It collected into a long blade. A scythe. The white of the bone handle and the red of the blood blade clashed. But it was beautiful. I held the scythe in both hands. A pattern carved itself onto the bone. It was beautiful. Swirls blackened the color of the overall white. This was my innocence. It was breath taking.
