sometimes they stumble upon grown adults with a mindset of a child because of trauma,PTSD or various personal reasons.

Sam and dean left hunting, putting it in the hands of some of their other capable hunter friends.

they help,sometimes, when they're not busy,sure. but they've left hunting in general .
