Phoebe was born at the turn of the century, 1900 on a Share Cropper plantation in Virginia. Being the Plantation owner's child had its advantages. Once he died she faced some so-called hardships, but nothing prepared her for the years that she lived, loved, and saw sorrow in Paris France during both World Wars.

The year is 1835 and Delia is a nineteen year old slave to the cruel and cold-hearted, Elliot Bradford, of the Bradford plantation in Charlestown, South Carolina. Delia was born on the Bradford plantation and ever since she was a baby, she's been groomed to serve the master, and his family. Eventually, Delia grew tired of the slave life and wants to start a new without serving someone else. But what happens when the master begins to grow obsessive, lustful feelings for her and Delia begins to fall in love with another slave. Will the two runaway together and be free or will the master ruin everything they have planned because of his desires?
