People say falling in love is like falling asleep. Slowly, then all at once. Well, when I fell in love, it was like being shoved off a cliff. It wasn't slow, and it sure as hell wasn't like falling asleep.

That's just not how life works.

I'm pretty sure when he met me, he wanted to shove me off a cliff himself, for that matter.

I fell in love with a monster.

And there was nothing I could do about it. I couldn't leave; he wouldn't let me. He's killed a lot of people, and I'm terrified that he'll kill me as well.

But I can't stay away from him.

He has no idea I love him, but he won't ever love me. He can't love me.

When you're living with vampires, nothing is certain, nothing is safe.

This dangerous path is one I must walk alone.
