Jim Paita has Our Lady of Sorrows High School eating out of the palm of his hand. It's all to do with that devastating charm. When he notices invisible, rule-loving Trini Moreno, it leads to something precious and special that neither expect. Please enjoy this short story throwback to high school in '90s Manila, where first love blooms among Walkmans and mix tapes, between varsity practice and library period. The Charmer is the first story in the Our Lady of Sorrows high school trilogy. Reading order: The Charmer Four Fridays and a Saturday Mushrooms & Sunshine

Life is hard. Specially when you're a high schooler. You can never know when your life is about to go up. And you 'especially' can never know when it's about to go down. But you can always take some precautions to avoid outcome of the hit. At least that's what I thought before the great 'Ashton Fellan' (pardon the sarcasm) interposed himself in my life. ... "We don't have the prettiest history. We didn't exactly like each other when we first met. You're my rival's girlfriend. We weren't interested in becoming friends with each other. But now in this difficult time, we're befriending. You'll help me to find the person who leaked that photo and prove to the coach that the article was not a self-promo to challenge his ideology." "What's in this for me?" "I won't report on you for invading my privacy. Trust me when I say my dad knows people." I roll my eyes. Never get mixed up with people with money. But maybe a little help won't be so bad after all. So I take his hand and shake it. "Okay, we have a deal." He smiles. "Now let's drink to celebrate." And I already have a bad feeling about this. *cover picture collected from Pinterest* © 2020 SHEONACC001 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
