"Parker Avenue." I snorted. "Your name sounds like a street."

"You're so funny, Anna." He gave a sarcastic laugh. "Go clean the dog poop in Bernard's cage."

My eyes widened when I saw the size of Bernard. "The dog looks big enough to eat other dogs - as a snack!"

"Just clean up the mess," Parker ordered. 

"You'd have to be crazy to think I'm cleaning that up." I paused. "Look at it! That's bigger than the dog himself!"

"Choose your weapon of choice," Parker said. "Broom or shovel?"

"Neither!" I exclaimed. "You can do it yourself, Mr. Avenue," I snapped.

"I hope you realize that I own this store. And it has come to my attention that you need this job, Anna," Parker sneered. 

"My stepdad owns this mall," I said rather smugly. 

"The same stepdad you were just arguing with?" he fired back. 

I felt my right eye twitch. "Give me the shovel."
