Like how the king is always afraid losing his queen, and how the queen does everything in her power to save her king.❞ - Think of life as a chess game. There are the Kings and the Queens ; who serve as the rightful leaders. There are the Knights and the Bishops ; the hunters and the wise. And then there's Rayne Parker, a valuable pawn playing a game of live or die, being at the same time in no control of his own life. Being a pawn means not being in charge, means following the rules and obeying the moves of the 'player'. That was the ISAA. They were the 'players' in this injustice game of chess. They controlled Rayne's every move. If he made a bad move, someone else would suffer as a consequence of his actions. And he hated every second of being the cause of someone's death. They pick her name, hair colour, demeanour, fashion sense, sexuality and programme her to believe the cover story as though it was her own life. They can do whatever they want with her. Her handler deals with the programming. Should she fail the mission she will be terminated. She is also an assassin. Programmed to take out a target. This mission... was also her target but something stopped her. What and why she is yet to find out but in return for saving his life, her target helps her escape. She may not know who she really is but one thing she does know for sure, she will avenge herself and make them pay, if only she could remember who 'they' are and more importantly who she was.
