It's a routine now for Ren. Since she was 12 she'd stepped through the same front doors onto the same carpet into the same asylum. As far as Ren knows nothing will ever change. Her father is still crazy, her mother is still missing, and her grandma is still trying her best, all
Because of the weekly visits it's not long before people begin the talk and with her fathers deteriorating mind Ren finds it almost impossible to visit him without wanting to break down and cry, but the asylum isn't going to let Ren walk out those doors for the last time just yet.

8:59 comes around and visitor time is over. The doors close shielding her from her dad with a goodbye but no promise for her return. A girl stumbles down the hall till she's fallen into the body of Ren and trembling in fear; the kind she'd seen before. The sound of shoes slamming against the carpet close behind sounded throughout the hallway. Concern and apprehension take over and Ren finds herself dragging the girl into an empty room near by till the approaching visitors disappeared.
After a small conversation it's not just apprehension and worry she feels for her, fascination is somewhere in there. A patient she meets on the day she thought she'd never come back and reminds her why she spends her time here in the first place. She leaves with her word for a return and a new friend.

Soon it becomes apparent why: Mason is a werewolf. But when a fight turns into a sudden kiss that neither expects, Kieran's feelings for Mason turn to attraction in an instant. None of it makes sense - vampires and werewolves are supposed to be mortal enemies, so why does Kieran find Mason so irresistible? He knows that each kiss is dangerous, each bite is unpredictable...
