Mystery
I still remember everything. All the pain and fear. As if it happened yesterday. But it didn’t and I still can’t forget anything that happened. It’s burnt into my brain and I don’t think I’ll ever forget. It all began when I started seeing the shadows.’ Shadows are harmless, they should be anyway. Lucy Davis was never afraid of the dark. Shadows were just shadows, nothing more; so why did she feel like she was being watched, followed? What did the nightmares mean? Why did she keep hearing the haunting song? The one that followed her during the day. Before she was filled with the fear of darkness, Lucy’s biggest problem was whether or not her best friend Jeremy liked her, and if he did what to do about it. Now she has to worry about her sanity. Are the shadows real? Was she just being paranoid? People usually always worried about what was lurking around in the dark, that’s why they were scared. It just wasn’t right to be scared of the darkness itself.

"Something's wrong." he declared and pulled away. Lucy looked down and sat straight in her chair. She opened her mouth but didn't say anything. She knew she couldn't spill. But how could she not tell him when he made talking to him so easy? She frowned and thought about it for a moment. "I get these...dreams." she said after a minute, softly. "They're nightmares, actually." Tyler nodded and encouraged her to continue. "They're terrifying. They keep me up at night and they make me paranoid during the day. They make me feel bad about myself, and..." Lucy paused. "They feel so real." she said, finishing her sentence in a whisper. *** Lucy's keeping a dark secret. It's ruining her life, and she doesn't know what to do. Will Tyler run away if he ever gets to know who she really is? Can anyone ever forgive her for what she's done? How is she supposed to live with herself after what happened? As she tries to figure the mess she's made out, time passes and she's got more and more to lose.
