"You could have used the storm to escape," He lied, in honesty she could have escaped the minute they were in open waters.

"And leave everyone to drown?" She retorted, and then continued in a much softer tone, "I did the right thing."

I've read quite a few fanfic stories out there and this one isn't very good in comparison, but I'll post it for others who might find it entertaining--it was certainly entertaining to write. Also, I understand a lot of readers don't like stories that follow canon. This one does follow the show for the most part, but eventually digresses, follows, and digresses again. While you may notice some key/similar parts, moving forward from this point in the show everything has been set on a new path.
