I turn to Nanari, hoping for her to tell me what it means. She is speechless, mouth hung open in a little o. "Queen Nanari?" I walk over. "Are you ok?"
"I have found you," she finally breathes. Her eyes flick to mine, glowing. "You are the one."
Nikki wakes up with no memory. All she has is her cat, Momo, and instructions from Queen Nanari. Miraland was once peaceful, but the Queen of the Lilith Kingdom senses treachery is poisoning the land in secret. Queen Nanari believes Nikki is the one who will be able to save Miraland, one step at a time. Along the way, Nikki will meet new friends, and make enemies. But will she be able to get her memory back? And can she rid the small town Wheat Field of an mysterious thief?

All characters and places belong to Elex. This is a novelization of chapter one of gameplay with my own take on the storyline. The plot will not be identical to that in the game, and can be read without any prior knowledge or experience in the game.

Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die. Only being able to depend on her less than mediocre skills in seeing the future, Mirai sets out to find the girl before the time is up.
