Juniper Belial is a devil, living in a place filled with supernatural creatures. She's never thought of herself as special and she doesn't stand out. She rarely takes care of herself either. She hasn't coped well with a terrible loss in her past and now she drinks to forget it. She doesn't own a home, only a shop, so she finds herself breaking into people's houses to sleep but sometimes she gets caught. That typically never matters to her until she finds herself stuck with an unbearable angel while her ex-fiance practically raises from the dead and goes looking for her. (This is an extension on the short story, the Rose Among Lilies.)

Imagine being nobody in this life. You were thrown into the street by your birth mother when you were just a few days old. And adoptive parents once picked you up like a homeless puppy, and now they're slowly destroying you from the inside out. But what if it turns out that you're not just an orphan but a new supernatural creature that no one has ever seen before? The hunt is on you, with everyone wanting to gain your powers. And Lucifer, your most powerful foe, will not give up on his goals. As she engages in this struggle for her life and the lives of her friends, she unknowingly sets free the monster dwelling within her. And this is exactly what her greatest enemy so longs for.
