Maya Stevens is a regular 17 year old girl wanting the same thing that every girl dreams of. To go to prom, have some friends and date a boy. But how will that happen when her parents never want to settle in one place for long?
She craves a 'normal' life but what she doesn't know yet is that she is anything but normal.
Their latest move sees her and her parents moving suddenly half way across the world where she will discover a world hidden within our normal human existence. A world that some will go to extreme lengths to eliminate everything that is out of the ordinary.
Maya, the girl who just wants a normal life is suddenly thrust headfirst into a strange new world, full of creatures she had only ever dismissed as ridiculous fantasies.
Now she is about to find out that all fiction has an element of truth behind it.

That's what's always been expected of her, which is why, since the fourth grade, she felt infatuated by Richie Tozier. He's everything she's told not to be, and isn't. It made her wonder how he could do it all so easily, up to the way he speaks, and down to the way he acts. Which is odd to her, because she felt she needs to despise him. But instead, she spent her days in class sneaking glances at him, and getting any chance to talk to him no matter how nervous she gets. Cassiopeia tries her very hardest to hide her crush from the glasses eyed boy. That isn't the case for Richie, though his crush on the girl only started in the sixth grade, he flirts with her at any chance he's get's. Which isn't much, due to their completely separate lives. When her body is found the doctors and cops try everything and eventually after tending to her for three days she wakes up to make it look like she is okay. She is unhappy because she is an angel and werewolf. She wants to know why but no one will tell. So she lives her normal life and is happy. But when the schools bad boy admits he wants her she doesn't know what to do.
