When Ceryle's boyfriend, Will, left town for unknown reasons, Ceryle was broken-hearted. She dreamed of a future for them both, and instead of this fairy-tale imagination, she was left with the shattered remains of her heart. But, before Will had left he gave her a promise, and clues for the reason of is departure.

Now, almost a year and a half after, Ceryle is determined to find out why he left. Armed with a new icy-facade, an unusual boy that had propped up next door, and a bunch of strange clues, Ceryle begins to find out that there are dangers in the world that don't necessarily involve humankind; rather, it was a world parallel to ours, one in the Evest, where characters from the wildest of our imagination come to life.

There, she meets Elves, Faeries, Mermaids and find the one she was seeking; Will, the most dangerous being of all.
