Katherine was never meant for Amity and she knew that. All her life she had been impersonating everyone else around her. Kindness over anger. Peace over anything. But she knew the truth about it all. There was no such thing as kindness, just people doing things for their own benefit.
She had decided a long time ago to leave the faction, so when her 16th birthday came and it was finally choosing day she decided her fate. She was not kind-hearted like the rest of her peers, so no Amity. She had been lying to everyone she knew, even herself since birth, so no Candor. She wasn't incredibly smart, so no Erudite. Selflessness was the closest thing to kindness, so no Abnegation.
Dauntless it was.
