Marina is an ugly girl. 

Her scars on her face shows the weary white flags of battles lost. Fight with kids at school, her mother, even dogs. Social anxiety doesn't help either. Her constant wheezing and asthma attacks cause her to attract odd looks and sometimes even pity.

Her father does the best he can to take care of her, but his sinking ship daughter seems too far gone. He really can't anyway, with his wife constantly beating him. 

A sudden realization fills Marina with a new sensation: hope. And she finally realizes running is the only way things will change.

Now, a man and his daughter are her only friends and allies in a fight to find who she is, along with a gorgeous woman who harbors hatred for Marina's new friend and his daughter. All four are bound by fate.
