"We can't do this anymore." Hurt. He didn't want to end what they had. Not when he meant so much to him. But what other choice did he have?
It wasn't meant to be.

"Wh-What? No, Darling-" The younger tried, shocked. No, this couldn't be the end. That's not what they promised-it wasn't supposed to happen this way.

"I'm.. I'm sorry." The Prince closed his eyes, turning away from his best friend, fist clenched at his sides. If he didn't leave now.. he didn't think he ever would. His will wasn't very strong when it involved the boy.

Was there anything the Guard could say? He knew the coincidences... he knew what would happen if they continued.

So he made the worst mistake of his life.. and let the boy leave.
