In the far distant future, the human race has vanished - replaced by the Furrae - hybrids of beast and man. Acres of land lie barren, and magick has become a reality. Abigail, a young lemur-wolf hybrid begins her term at the University of Magick, but something foul is afoot, and nothing is at it seems.

This was my NaNoWriMo novel back in 2003 and still sits unfinished on my hard-drive. It is an epic - already spanning nearly 100,000 words. Please excuse the terrible cover. My art has improved greatly in the last 9 years, and I WILL be redoing it, when I finish this tale. Inspiration lies in Harry Potter, Patrick Rothfuss, China Mieville, Redwall, Phillip Reeve, ElfQuest and whatever else I was reading at the time.Todos los derechos reservados

This is the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. The goal: 50,000 word RAW draft written entirely in the month of November. Unlike most of my stories, which I prefer to edit before posting, I'm actually going to post updates to this at the end of each day in chapter-sized chunks. The idea behind this story is that a terrorist attack in the near future causes the US to go hyper-isolationist, to the point that it abandons Hawaii and Alaska to fend for themselves. They do, forming the United Pacific States (maybe with a few other island countries). Hawaii then goes on to turn itself into the new world police with stealthy, genetically modified cyber-soldiers. I'm marking this story as mature because there will be action scenes, and probably some interesting perspectives on nudity and relationships. I'm not planning on anything explicit, but this won't be a kids book. Validated winner at 50,040 words!

Set in a future not too far, this tale embarks a journey into a world where humans have found a way to merge animal and human DNA, to become anthropomorphic hybrids. These new hybrids have been part of the world for years, yet some people still are disgusted with these new findings, calling them "freaks of nature." Among these new creatures, androids resembling a "fictional" species called protogens have been created by Cladeware Biotech, an institute that creates bionic limbs for both humans and Alters. But what happens when a graduate of high school meets a girl, who is labeled as a proto...but is actually something else entirely? At first he was weary...but there's something about her that makes him feel...warm. What conflicts will arise between these two? Love? Pain? Loss? Whether or not Theodore Aspen (Theo, to his few friends) wanted to get dragged into the conflict between his old home, Terra, and his new one, Earth, that doesn't matter. He thought that by becoming an exchange student to Earth with his lupine best friend, Alaina, he would be able to leave his past as an orphan behind and find a new family. The second part happened. The first didn't, and now he's going to find himself on the front lines of the war that he wanted to flee, and it's all due to a few mistakes that he made (mostly, not realizing that his principal on Earth wasn't quite human; no, Mister Marlboro likes Camels, hates Terrans, and oh, wants them all dead. He's going to try all he can to make sure that that happens, and it's Theo and co's job to make sure that it doesn't.) They'll have to stay alive first, but so far so good, thankfully. This story follows the young prodigy Grant Alan, a scholar turned telekinetic, surviving in a strange new world after the colossal science vessel, the Halfpace, passes into a future very foreign to him, populated by anthropomorphic creatures that have dominated humanity after a planet-wide war. To ultimately find out what happened to the last vestiges of humanity, Grant must use his wits, friendships and newfound power to navigate this new and dangerous world while an ancient, malevolent force slowly corrupts its new anthro leaders. I wrote this because I was partly inspired by "A Man In A Beast's World" by @GhillieCamo. Admittedly, my head was kind of in two places when writing this. Part of me wanted to create this really thoughtful, slow-burning, thriller sci-fi story experience with lots of lore and things to mull over, and the other half wanted to make a human x anthro romance story, dripping with provocative scenes, dialogue and drama. I'd say the story has both, but more of the former, which I think is ultimately better than if it was the other way around. I don't claim to be the best, or even good, at storytelling, and there are definitely a couple issues I have in my story, but people have been telling me they really like this story. Many controversial views will be addressed as expected with everyday life, so I suggest you proceed with caution. Guns will be shot, lies will be told, kisses will be exchanged, and the human mind will be pushed beyond the edge of insanity. This is not your average story. Why?
