Olivia Williams, Olive, is like everyone else in her small town, a werewolf and quite wealthy. After a tragic event with her father, she has no other choice but to move away from her home to live with a friend of her father. 

One day on her way to school, she discovers a man in a car following her in her rearview mirror. As she gets closer to school, she notices the man following her seems to be approaching her vehicle at a faster rate than before. Just before she can speed up to get past the traffic lights, her car is jerked forward aggressively, her car spins out of control as she struggles to grasp control on the wheel. When she does, it's too late. She looks up and sees a big tree in front of her, bracing herself for impact, she squeezes her hands on the wheel and crashes violently into the tree. Everything goes white, and ringing is piercing her ears.
