Being on the run from her past, Sam has to go far as disguising herself as a guy to leave as much of her past hidden. But what will happen when Sam submits to the game she craves so much and to the popular jock who just can't leave her alone? Will her past catch up to her, letting the psychopath's promise ultimately be fulfilled? *** This short story is filled with basketball, secrets, and romance. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I'm liking writing it! And I'm sorry in advance for any grammatical errors. P.s there's some colorful language, but I wouldn't consider it mature **** A little snip bit :D Without a warning, the comfort of the leather in my hands disappears. Ripped and robed from me, the shock tares me from remembering the past. I'm the only one left on this side of the court. The rest of my team is now defending, but I'm just standing here dumbfounded. My head feels groggy, I can feel the start of a migraine, and my hands can't seem to stop shaking. I'm playing the sport that led to my father's death. I'm ignoring the past, the repercussions, the killer. I'm so caught up in my selfish desire to feel a part of a team. To be loved. To play the sport that my body craves. The only issue is that my body isn't compatible with my dreams. I want to be able to play freely on the court. I want my only problems to be about boys, grades, and winning games. I want to suffer through extensive and brutal practices, so long as we get through it as a team.

Formerly known as 'His Angel' Trigger warnings on chapters. ~ "Harmony" it was her name; no longer a scream but a simple word. She lifted her head, and saw him standing in front of her, hanging over and blocking the warm sun. She continued to cry, gripping the dog so tight she was probably fucking hurting her. "I can't take it anymore," she said, her lip quivering, her tongue tasting salty. Waiting for the inevitable, "I can't do it any longer." She took a deep, shaky breath. "Mony-" He leaned down gently, sitting in the grass across from her, trying to catch a glimpse of her face hidden in shame. How could he ever kill her? He couldn't even imagine cutting a hair on her head. "Harmony-" she looked at him with bright red, puffy eyes. "Will you come with me?" So much hesitation on her face, the sight of it fucking killed him. But, she reached out a shaky hand, slipping it into his. ~ Harmony finds her trusting nature doesn't always do her good, and the biggest mistake she ever made was walking home with a man who insisted they were taking a shortcut. She wakes up, cold, tired and terrified, chained to a wall in a stranger's basement. Unbeknownst to her, she's now in the hands of someone else so much worse. She finds herself determined to escape his grip in any way possible, even if it means doing what he wants and pretending to like it. And as more time goes on, Max seems to be further taken by her, doing everything to try and mend bridges to get her to stay. But, she can't become complacent; that's how people die. She's found herself deep into the underbelly of life others don't know, where laws are not the same, where people are not the same. Surrounded by a pack of gun runners, thieves and murderers, she starts to question if she could ever go back to her old life. When does the puppetry start being the truth? ~ Not everything is always green and blue.
