Darren Solstern has been imprisoned for 5 years on Kamino by the Empire, and all he had known since then was his hate. But when a Rebel break in frees him from his prison, He is taken to the Rebel's secret base where he is taught to use his power with The Force by Rahm Kota that he was imprisoned for. As the Death Star, a supermassive weapon constructed by the Empire is completed, the Rebels must find a way to capture the secret layouts, and return them to The Rebel Base so they can exploit the Death Stars smallest weaknesses.

He begins to split from the rebels and hides something important from Kanan. Hera and Sabine return to Lothal to inspect Ezra's old hideout and find something that explains what happened to Ezra's parents. After the crew dropped off Tseebo, his head piece was removed and Chopper and Zeb decode the information and learn all the secrets of the Empire. A creature is shot down in the night on Yavin. Ezra finds the animal which is a Night Fury trapped in bounds. Ezra can't bring himself to kill him and sets him free. A day later, it's Ezra's turn to scout the base and he finds the Night Fury again. He's stuck in a cove unable to fly because of a wounded tail fin. Ezra dosen't tell the Rebellion about his find. Connecting with animals being his specialty in the Force, he works up a secret bond with the Night Fury.
