A different approach.
What happened when the promises remained mere promises.
What happened when one felt like he was losing himself.

It is a two-shot.
The characters didn't belong to me... as usual.
Next-generation from 'Boruto' is present but doesn't follow that plotline.
And I don't intend to add Ōtsutsuki and others here.

"The thing I wished for hurt my whole family. I brought all this suffering down on my family because I made a wish to protect everyone without knowing how to do it. A disappointment like me should have never existed in the first place." _Uzumaki Boruto. After the Kara mess and destroying Jigen and saving Kawaki, Boruto and others learnt the real threat of Karma, a four pointed diamond shaped seal, bestowed by Momoshiki Otsutsuki. The resurrection of Momoshiki is 80% complete and Boruto loses his sleep and hunger in fear of Momoshiki taking over his body. Soon, Boruto overheard the Kages talking about killing him to save the world. After hearing that, Boruto convinced himself that him dying is the only way to save the world. (The kara doctor doesn't have the pills in my story.) Without any sleep or properly taking care of himself, Boruto slowly slipped into multiple mental and physical illnesses, eventually attempting to kill himself. He was saved by Tsunade and Sakura. Slowly everyone found out about Boruto's depression and other illnesses and try to help him. Will Boruto accept the help? Or will he continue to try 'save' the world all by himself? Read my story to find out. Plus note:- As always, I do not own Boruto, Naruto or the artworks. Credit goes to the respective owners. I only own the storyline. Neji and Itachi are alive in this story. A Trigger warning. Contains many triggering subjects like self harm, blood, many mental illnesses, suicidal ideations and other things. So don't read if you are triggered easily. I do not joke around with mental illnesses as I am going to be a psychology student. Trust me, I know how important it is. Any joke I'll be using in this story should be categorised as just jokes. Don't take it seriously. With caution, you can proceed. Enjoy...

Preventing The Inevitable

In which Sakura tries to figure out if she's been sent to the past-or an alternate universe with suspicious tweaks. Dying was everything she had expected, an inevitable event, bound to happen sooner rather than later (a lot sooner, actually)-an unstoppable force, driven by the arm of a rabbit goddess piercing through her, and just barely not enough will to survive. And yet, it was nothing she could've ever prepared for. Not when she found herself four years old again, and a pink-haired stranger roamed her strangely empty house, claiming to be her brother. - "Sakura had one thought, waking up screaming her lungs out. Shit. Because she wasn't supposed to be screaming. She wasn't supposed to have a voice at all. And she sure as hell wasn't supposed to know that. Her last memory was a hazy mix of echoed shouts, blurred movements, and a warm liquid trickling down her limp body. Though she couldn't remember how, it was clearer than anything that she had died. And death wasn't reversible, last time she checked."
