"Don't hide from me, little Amina," Aamon's voice echoed in her head as he strolled, with a knife in his hand, searching each inch of his mansion for her. 

She tried her possible best to stay quiet as she covered her mouth with both hands, her heart beating impossibly fast while hot tears rolled down her tired eyes. 

She hid inside a wardrobe of the walk-in closet in one of the guest rooms downstairs, hoping he wouldn't find her this time. 

"I'll find you, Amina, I always do" Aamon's voice lingered slowly in her head, his words consistently haunting her. She was scared to death. 

Aamon always scared the shit out of her, but this time, it was a different form of fright. It was as if she knew something terrible would happen. 

She could hear those footsteps again; it was automatically registered in her mind. She knew well already that each foot took three seconds before hitting the hard ceramic floor. 

Each second haunted her, and as the sound of his footsteps got closer, she felt her heart pounding heavily in her chest.
