Olivia Clark has been held captive in an underground facility for five years so she could be part of an experiment dedicated to what some might call evolution. To her, it is the practice of raping young women so that they can carry and birth children that the White Coats later deem a failure or a success. After being punished one day by way of electrocution, Olivia discovers she can read the minds of those around her. This gift aids in helping her and some others escape. Although she is now free, she is still incredibly weak from starvation and dehydration. It isn't long before she comes across a man in the woods. At first she runs from him, thinking he is going to take her back to her personal hell; especially when she discovers that his thoughts are unavailable to her. Noah Anderson, however, is unaware of what's been happening just a few miles from his parent's vacation cabin in the woods. Upon meeting Olivia, all he wants to do is help her find her way home, but along the way he finds himself falling for her. Can they ever have a normal relationship? They could if it weren't for the people who would do anything to have Olivia back in their clutches.
