Until an unexpected someone reignites the flame of his determination.
(A quick 20-minute one-shot I wrote because of a post on r/BokuNoShipAcademia and a comment thread talking about All Might's inevitable death. It's been altered quite a bit, but not by a lot.)

Falling (Depressed Deku Fanfic) (COMPLETE)
Ever since Izuku Midoriya joined U.A. High School and settled in, he knew that the League of Villains were after him and his quirk: One For All. However, when the time comes when Bakugo is the target and is only seconds away from being captured, Midoriya throws himself in the chaos and ends up saving Bakugo, only at the cost of his own safety as he is captured instead. Midoriya is brought back to the League of Villains' hideout and with him there, Shigaraki plans on changing the young boy's mindset and plans to use force against him. When Midoriya isn't able to escape for three years and no one can seem to find him, he begins to lose hope and his wounds only bleed more. Even when he goes back in time with the help of a pro hero's quirk, he is diagnosed with depression and struggles to go on through life. He doesn't feel like himself. He needs someone. He needs someone so badly. But what if there isn't anybody to help Midoriya? How will Midoriya cope when someone close to him dies right in his arms? Warning! This story will contain depression, suicide talk, torture (not explained explicitly), violence, and a whole lot of angst! Also, this story won't contain any ships. So, there isn't any BakuDeku, TodoDeku, etc., it's just a depressing story with Midoriya with his friends trying to change themselves to help him and their own selves in the future. This is the continuation of The Emperor's Dragon (Wattpad can only have 200 chapters in a fic) It didn't start when All Might told Izuku Midoriya that he couldn't be a hero. It started much earlier than that, when Hisashi Midoriya walked out on Inko, taking with him their four and a half year old son. All For One will devote a lot of time to investments he considers worthwhile. His son is one such investment. "Young man," All Might said again. He was trying to sound gentle. "We can fix this." Izuku stared at him. And then he laughed. It was a bitter, hollow laugh but as he laughed he let his hair fade to white and turned his eyes gold. The widening of All Might's eyes was somewhat carthic but wasn't going to be enough. "No, we can't," Izuku told him before bracing. All For One let his son go to make his own choices, giving him a new identity, and new opportunities. He's taught Izuku well but needs to know that his son will come to him because it is his choice. Izuku is eager to see the world, and perception creates reality. What will Izuku see? A system that should be torn down and burned, or a system that is trying to be better than it is? Which side will he choose? Here, he is not All Might's chosen successor, but All For One's and no matter what he chooses, he will be a force to be reckoned with. Follows Izuku through into high school and canon time and all the fun that entails.

Phantom of a Hero
During the USJ, All MIght managed to show class 1A why he was indeed All Might, and bested a creature that was specifically designed to defeat him. It seemed that today, the hero would win again. Unfortunately, the villains proved to be smarter than they though and brought in not one, not two, but THREE creatures who looked almost identical to the creature All Might just dispatched with difficulty. All hope seemed lost to All Might and those that could see the three new creatures were terrified as well. However, out of nowhere, somebody intervened and stopped the three new creatures. Who was this new individual, and what was his purpose for being here? This is my first fanfiction story so my description, kind of sucks. Anyway, hope you readers enjoy it.
