Arissa Scott is not happy to be moving right before her junior year. At 17 years old, she thought she had it made in New York, where everything is big and constantly changing. And when her parents move her family to Virginia, she has to adjust to everything being the exact opposite of what she's used to. New home. New school. New friends. But the people of her new town are strange. Odd, if you will. They're very secretive, and not very friendly. Seemingly holding a grudge against her and her family simply for existing.
Then she meets a boy who seems just as rude and secretive as the rest. If not, more. Her gut tells her he's dangerous, but for some reason, she's drawn to him. Like a moth to a flame.
So when Arissa and her brother get into a nearly fatal accident, she didn't expect anything to change. But weird things start to happen to and around Arissa after the accident. Things like sleep walking into the forest with no concept of what had brought her there. Or even, how she's supposed to get back.
And that's when she realizes that some secrets are meant to stay buried. Even if they are her own.
