In this city, turning sixteen brings a whole new life. Every year, new sixteen-year-olds are put into the Circle they will spend the rest of their life in. They will live in a house with nine other people; each Circle containing five girls and five boys. They are expected to be self sufficient, be kind to each other, and to choose a partner within their Circle. So what happens when sixteen-year-old Alexandra takes interest in someone from a different Circle?
