"200 years ago, the Earth was destroyed and left in shambles. Now, society has rebuilt itself and once again, peace has been restored. Outside these walls awaits a brutal hellscape, filled with terrors that should only live inside of a bad dream. This is why leaving the fort is forbidden." 

Those same words have been repeated to Octavia her entire life. It's common knowledge. One day, she finds herself outside of these walls, in the very place she's been raised to fear. 

What she finds is far from what she expected, and she discovers a world she never knew existed- but perhaps the truth was buried for a reason.
