The toaster pops up with my daughter's toast, I butter the bread and add jam. I throw it on a plate and pour her a cup of milk. I walk the plate over to where she is sitting at the small table in the corner of our kitchen and place it in front of her, smile and brush my hand over her hair gently. She is my life. I will try my hardest to give her the life I never had. Jannie is two years old. She is absolutely the cutest little girl with her auburn brown hair, big, sky blue eyes, deep dimples when she smiles, and the chubbiest little cheeks. She is my mini me in every way. I got pregnant with her at the beginning of my Junior year in high school. I made a poor judgment call and believed people when they poured their hearts out to me. When they said they loved me. Naïve is what I was. It's okay though, I got Jannie. She saved me. My name is Julie Matthews, but everyone calls me Jules. I'm a college freshman at the University of Tennessee. I got a late start on getting my college applications out because of being a single mom, working, and trying to get out of the slump that was my life. I got my acceptance letter about a month ago though and made plans to move to Tennessee. I am praying for a new place, new life - for her and me. Jake is the quarterback for the University of Tennessee. He isn't the lady's man everyone thinks he is. He wants one girl, not one every night. He's hoping this is his year - NFL combine, getting drafted, and finding the love of his life. He has a good feeling about this year to have it all. Follow Jules and Jake as they navigate college, sports, family and more.
