In the small town of Orsus in Vale, Winter Schnee is living by the dime to get her dream restaurant. After her mother, Willow, passed away, she lived with her best friend, Weiss, and Weiss' father, Klein. Then, the arrival of Prince Qrow Branwen from the Kingdom of Mistral occurs.
One day, Qrow and his servant, Tyrian, make a deal with the Voodoo King of Orsus, Roman Torchwick, and his life changes. Later that night, Winter and Qrow's lives intersect and everything changes...
