"Why would you risk stealing hot restaurant pasta over the nearby junkfood? Its easier." "Because, they're you're favorite." "And?" "Because, Sadie, like it or not, I actually care for you." He winked. I rolled my eyes and tore off the brown paper wrapper from the hot newly-cooked lasagna. "Gee, why not date me, then?" I muttered. Of course, I hadn't meant for him to hear that. But unfortunately for me, he did. His look was full of amusement. His car was just enough for two people, but I had suddenly felt claustrophobic. He leaned in closer, his breath fanning over my cheeks. He stared at me and smirked. "Believe me, I've been trying." = Sadie Brown is innocent. Dean Wilson isn't. But somehow, they're both running from authority. And evading arrest. Together. = When wrongly accused of a crime she didn't commit, NY Times Best-Selling Author Sadie Brown teams up with an ex-museum curator, Dean Wilson, who was now America's Most Wanted fugitive. Of course, they are wary of each other at first, given that they had found their way to each other under certain circumstances. But eventually, they had to help each other hide from the police and go on with their life, evading arrest. The two work together to steal cash, clothing, food and water hesitantly. As both their abilities to hide and run developed, its no surprise that their feelings had, too. That is, until Hayden gets caught. And Sadie doesn't. With putting Dean's lessons into use over the time, she has to go on with her own, hiding and running away alone, in order to fight for justice - and free Dean along the way. Bcause getting caught was not in the plan. And falling in love wasn't, either. [ Ranking as of 05-06-20 ] #56 in Road #35 in On The Run #29 in Running Away #18 in Fugitive

AMBY AWARDS TOP PICK 2024❤️ I can only see half of his face, reflected in the mirror at the front of the bus, and part of that is obscured by the peak of the black company-branded cap he's wearing. But I can see enough to glean that there's a strong jaw covered in scruff. A wide mouth that looks like it would be prone to smiling. He's wearing glasses with trendy light tortoiseshell frames, and I can't quite discern the colour of his eyes from my position . . . but some weird intuition is telling me that they'll be hazel, and I wonder when my brain is going to catch up. Because I *know* him, don't I? I'm almost certain of it. And he seems to know me, too. Or at least he thinks he does. The way he's glancing over at me lets me in on that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mirren Shepherd has *many* pet peeves. Top of the list, though? Staycations . . . And surprises. So when her girls' trip abroad is cancelled at the last minute and she finds herself roped into a minibus tour of Northern Scotland instead, she isn't remotely happy. And when she finds out who their guide is . . . It's yet another reason for her to dislike surprises. Because Owen Sullivan wasn't so much the one who got away . . . He was the one who just didn't return. And, after she finally got over him, she never expected to see him again. Mirren would prefer to leave the past in the past, but Owen is determined to try to right his wrongs. Can she trust him? Can she trust *herself*? Maybe, just maybe, this surprise - and staycation - won't be as bad as Mirren thinks . . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~
