Lena Luthor has been seen as guilty for most of her life because of her family. Her father poisoned a small Kansas town, her mother has murdered thousands of aliens, and her brother planted bombs in Metropolis killing millions. So it's no surprise to anyone when she's sentenced to life imprisonment.The Luthors are all monsters so why would she be any different. 
Kara Danvers always see's the best in everyone. Even though her job at Belle Reve prison brings her in contact with  some of the worst criminals humanity has to offer. That is until she's assigned to guard a new transfer, Lena Luthor. She's has a vendetta against the Luthors for killing her family. But when she gets to know Lena she starts to question everything she heard and been told about the girl who doesn't fit the mold of a violent sociopath. 
One question soon becomes very apparent to Kara. Why is Lena Luthor in prison?

Even on Krypton, she was misunderstood. When she was younger and her mother asked about boys or boyfriends, Kara would always reply, "No, Mommy! I wanna have a girlfriend." Which was unheard of. Kara's feelings towards girls were punishable by death, much like some countries on Earth.
