Xaedora was a kingdom so vast the world prospered under its reign. Elves held the high ground, were loved and appreciated by most if not all. But this peace was not meant to last. Humans grew to have hatred for the elves, thinking that the elves believed in their superiority over others. This was, in fact, wrong. Humans grew violent and hateful, their numbers grew until finally they began to purge elves and other magic possessing creatures.
Dwarves retreated to the mountains, enslaved to mine the jewels and gold and silver for the human kingdom. Fae hid within the forest away from the human's harmful watch. Merfolk returned to the deep depths of the ocean. Elves stayed in their coastal kingdom, used the magic they did possess to build a wall, used what they could to make a shield, all to protect their shrinking numbers from the humans.
The humans were prideful in their new growth. They had speared fear into centuries old people and tore down their prosperity. Elves practiced their work in silence and years passed, all seemed fine for the queen of the elves. She did what she could to protect her people from the dictator that was so cruel against them. And its worked, but for how long?
