Magic has been banned in the Continent for many, many years, after a group of people decided to take over and rule. Now, the four kingdoms, Viriddean, Cymatilia, Rubrium and Flavenis live in war and fear of the Caligo.
There's a legend about an object that granted the Caligo's magic and is also the one thing that can destroy them, but no one is sure it really exists.
Alaina is living her normal life being a guard at the border of Viriddean when an intruder, coming from Cymatilia, rattles everything. The things he tells her and some unfortunate developments in her life lead her to believe that the legend of the Caligo Heart might actually be true and maybe she should try to bring peace back to the Continent.
