A young teenager born with Bloom's Disease living a life of hiding away in the shadows from others and only leaving the comfort of her home for school.
But when the Carnival comes to town Zelia must find out what all the commotion is and find out if it is as amazing as she hears.
Replacing her scarf with makeup she sets off to do just that.
The large family Carnival is more than it appears. Young Zelia finds out why when she is kidnapped for the ring masters entertainment.
